The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) invites you to participate in our ABCB Forum on 31 October 2023.
This is the second event in a series of ABCB Forums where you can talk to our Board Chair, Glenys Beauchamp AO PSM, and CEO, Gary Rake, about any aspect of our work.
These forums are part of the ABCB’s commitment to building and retaining the confidence and trust of the people and organisations who have an interest in our work.
The forum is an opportunity to understand more about our strategic direction and the way we make decisions. Your feedback will help shape our work program and the advice we prepare for Building Ministers.
Forum theme
We are especially interested in continuing the conversation about Net Zero buildings, which was a popular discussion topic in our inaugural forum.
Net Zero is a priority for all levels of Government in Australia, and a global priority in the continued effort around climate change. In relation to the NCC, it is particularly applicable to energy efficiency for commercial and residential buildings. The ABCB is working on new commercial energy efficiency provisions for inclusion in the next edition of the NCC, and we are interested to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
We’re also keen to hear your feedback on our information and education programs – have you attended a seminar or webinar? Have you seen any of our online videos?
What works well and what could we improve?
Noting the forum panel is the Chair and CEO, the forum isn’t the best place to ask detailed questions about specific technical aspects of the National Construction Code. We’ll aim to take those on notice or help connect you to the right person to get an answer. For information about the technical detail of the NCC, please visit NCC Online.
